WHAT IS THIS?
The "5 Things That Are Hot and Not About Destiny" is our regular weekly segment here at the YOUR Destiny website and meant to be a column on what has been going on, either, in Destiny generally, or in the head of the columnist specifically.
The column will be written by our resident writers and their opinions are obviously just opinions - you might disagree, heck, we'd almost be disappointed if you don't disagree! Feel free to participate in the discussion on our Facebook Page!

5 THINGS THAT ARE "HOT" ABOUT DESTINY!
This plot is just terrific. It opens so many possibilities - especially for my favorite color since Awakenings: Monoblue. Be it Dooku/Snoke, Kylo2/Savage, QuiGon2/Yoda - and all these decks sound like a tons of fun. In addition I think their competitive value is not to be underestimated.
2. JACKALMEN GAMES
These guys have managed to release the entire Across the Galaxy set for the simulator in no time. This greatly facilitates the phase of deckbuilding and, above all, deck testing. In addition, I became so attentive to their exciting content - highly recommended.
3. OFFICIAL RULES?
Finally, we have some answers to important questions. Stifle is not a "may" and General Grievous cannot be crammed with weapon modifications. Somehow, at least I find the latter a pity! The only thing missing is a new Holocron, finally answering the question on 'balancing' Snoke and Yoda ... ah, and Qui-Gon Jinn's Lightsaber!
4. MAKE YOUR STAND
Great promo cards and a premium play mat. With regards to the upcoming Regionals Season this is simply fabulous! All the cards (Vader's Sword, Mother Talzin, Plo-Koon) are even competitively playable. And who would not like to have shield-tokens in the form of the ever-popular villain with breathing difficulties?!
5. FRENCH NATIONALS PREPARATIONS
Almost at the perfect time, the release of Across the Galaxy was in time to be legal for the French National Championships 2018. I'm really looking forward to the deck ideas of the participants and which characters will climb to the top of the new meta to finally dethrone Aphra/Snoke/x.
Fittingly, my boss has promised to release me just in time for Worlds 2019, which is why I'm personally all the more eager to make a decent performance in France. Without wanting to make silly jokes, I actually find Mads' article on tournament preparation very helpful. The best thing about this event, of course, is to finally meet up with the YOUR Destiny Crew.
5 THINGS THAT ARE "NOT" ABOUT DESTINY!
1. DECK VARIETY
Of course I could have written this point to HOT, but currently I find the breathtaking diversity in view of the French National Championships 2018 rather disturbing (unless of course you bring an OTK deck). Which decks should I prepare for? What do I have to expect? Too many possibilities!!!
2. WORLD'S DATE
Since my account despite solid work is constantly lacking money and I have to sign up for special leave early, it would be good to finally know when Worlds 2019 will take place. Is it in May 2019 as it has been the last two years for Destiny (or are the rumours true and it has been moved)? Is it at the Fantasy Flight Games Center in Roseville? To know WHERE and WHEN the event will take place would be endlessly helpful in finding a cheap flight and a place to stay.
3. TECHNICAL ISSUES
In addition to Claus and Mads' livestream offer, we, the German YOUR Destiny group led by Tobias Winter, Christine Hoelz, David Levy and myself, could 'theoretically' offer a high-quality stream due to the 'Grind affinities' of the aforementioned three, covering almost all major European events is possible.
After the failed stream attempt at the Dutch National Championships 2018 and the incredibly low bitrate at the second Belgian Championships, the whole thing culminated in an untransferred, but announced draft livestream of our group. Do I have to mention that in the final game of this draft, I also forgot to press "Record" to at least be able to load the games of our great Tobias Winter to YouTube?! Sorry about that ... We are working on it!
A First Round Mill Deck and a First Round Kill Deck with Vehicles and Mods? Hopefully, these deck archetypes will never become a core part of the competitive meta. Just keep your hands off this crap!
But that is just my very personal opinion. The worst of those is actually the Awakenings Qui-Gon Combo. You could argue that it is okay to strictly play by the rules, even if they are obviously misunderstood and hopefully not meant to be interpreted this way. It is still a NOT in my eyes though. What is HOT about this, are the discussions about 'gaming ethics' that are taking place these days! EVERY OPINION on that topic has its point. Love it.
5. VADER’S FIST
I know this card was already in the HOT section some time ago, but man, it is just so über strong! I think it is busted all around. Especially because there are decks that generate enough resources to play it Round 1. The initial roll in, the power action and the excellent die make it possible to knock out 9+ damage with only that one support and that is even relatively consistently.
Vader's Fist is still immune to many effects and Specials in the game because it is not a vehicle. Too few decks are capable of reliably placing an AT-ST on the field to sweep Vader's henchmen off the board. Bad design, if you ask me, hate it or play it.
